Anni Cox, Biography

I am Anni, an EMDRIA-certified psychotherapist who has been practicing psychotherapy since 2003. Specializing in trauma therapy, I primarily work with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. I am an empathetic therapist who takes a new approach to health and well-being.

As a graduate student, I received formal training from the EMDR Institute. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of psychotherapy treatment that is designed to reduce the stress associated with traumatic memories.

It can be helpful for both single-event traumas, such as a car accident, assault, or witnessing an upsetting event. EMDR works just as well for longer-term situations, including childhood trauma or extensive stress or abuse.

While I am clinically trained, I use a more holistic approach to healing and creating balance. At my practice, Anni Cox Counseling Services, LLC, I help people process their memories either through EMDR or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). EFT helps energy shift where there are blockages through the meridian system. These techniques lend themselves to a deeper understanding of healing.

I will work with you to determine the optimal approach for your therapy. I recognize that each person’s situation is unique, which is why I will specifically design an intervention that will move you toward the healing you seek. My sessions are always client-centered and insight-oriented.
